According to OEC (The Observatory of Economic Complexity) statistics, China, Malaysia, India, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Iran are among the biggest suppliers of garlic in Asia.
According to the same statistics, China annually exports 1.9 billion dollars, Malaysia 15 million dollars, India 9 million dollars, and Turkey and Uzbekistan each 4 million dollars.
In Europe, the largest exporter of garlic is Spain, which has an average annual export of 500 million dollars. But in Iran, due to the sanctions, there are often different statistics of the export of its products.

Garlic needs 15 hours of sunlight per day when growing. For this reason, its planting generally starts in autumn and winter. Until the plant reaches the growth stage, light should be provided in spring and summer.
Usually, garlic harvesting season is done in late spring and summer. However, temperature and humidity are very effective in the growth rate of garlic.
If the garlic is harvested early, its skin will remain thin and it will reduce the resistance of the product and it will perish quickly. Also, if the garlic is picked late, they may separate from each other under the soil and even rot.

garlic storage conditions
Garlic needs cool temperatures to grow, and care must be taken during harvesting so that the skin is not damaged and opened. If the conditions are favorable, garlic can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 10 months.
The proper temperature for fresh garlic storage is 1-0 degrees Celsius. And its appropriate relative humidity should be 65-75%.
Reducing oxygen, temperature and humidity can delay the germination of garlic. Of course, note that garlic must be dried before being stored, otherwise it will spoil due to high humidity.
